Why work for us?

In a small company, you learn a great deal and directly see the impact of your work.

Lucas, for example, joined us in summer 2019 as a summer student. He did excellent research and studied hydrodynamics of gas-liquid flows and studied heat transfer. We managed to publish his work in the top peer-reviewed journal – the Chemical Engineering Journal. Moreover, Lucas did more – he participated in the development of our SABRe system.

As a result of a few months of work he learned a lot and got 1 patent application in his name and 1 top publication.

Get in touch if you want to participate.

Why Stoli Chem in particular?

Stoli Chem are an award-winning spin-out from the University of Warwick. We design, manufacture and install new chemical reactor equipment with a focus on transferring batch chemistry to continuous processing.

We have a wide range of clients in multiple chemical industries ranging from pharma to bulk chemicals. Our small team of chemists and engineers is looking to expand. Our customer base is predominantly UK and EU clients, we are growing our export business to cover Asian and US markets.

Equality and Diversity

We stand for equality and diversity. We have adopted the Gender Equality Plan. The keys are your experiences, enthusiasm, and ambitions (not dreams). Formal qualifications are secondary to enthusiasm, ability to learn, and practical demonstrable experience.

Apply if you are not sure. If you apply but are not successful – we could help you and provide feedback if you require it. Various flexible start date/working patterns can be discussed.

Design (Mechanical) Engineer

Do you want to make a tangible difference that you can see; halve the energy consumption in chemical processes and learn?

We seek an engineer with knowledge of mechanical engineering to expand our new product line – the SABRe reactor enables transferring batch chemistry to continuous processing to save manufacturing costs and lead towards Net Zero.

Stoli Chem are an award-winning spin-out from the University of Warwick. We have clients in the chemicals industries ranging from pharma to bulk chemicals.

You will join our small team of chemists and engineers to make a real difference and scale-up our SABRe system and develop new products. You will help scale up our reactors from laboratory to pilot scale and beyond. We are looking for an engineer with a knowledge of mechanical engineering. The key requirements and responsibilities are the ability and knowledge of a CAD software, preparing production drawings, and generating new design ideas while understanding cost implications. Hands-on working is the key as you will be involved in assembly as well as prototyping including 3D printing and simple machining in various materials.

Formal qualifications are secondary to enthusiasm, ability to learn, and practical demonstrable experience. We are keen on promoting equality and diversity. All eligible applications are considered and feedback on eligible applications could be provided. Various flexible start date/working patterns can be discussed.

The position starts as fixed-term for 2 years, with a likely extension to permanent. We offer competitive salaries, a pension scheme and 25 days annual leave. The work will be performed at our Wellesbourne premises CV35 9EF.

Please submit your CV. Please do not submit the standard cover letter – instead, answer the following questions: (1) Your hands-on experience in fabrication and prototyping; (2) Why you want to be involved in this job? No more than 100 words each. Submissions without these answers will not be considered. The application closes on 1st Sep (23:59) but we look to start conversations earlier – do not delay!
